You may have heard the maxim: "the cover-up is worse than the crime." That certainly proved true for Paul Kruse, the former president of Blue Bell Creameries. He has been indicted for trying to "recall" listeria-contaminated ice cream, without notifying retailers or consumers about the real reason his employees were pulling the product from store shelves. The article and the indictment speak for themselves. But it causes me to wonder. What would Mr. Kruse's fate have been if he had been transparent, and ordered a formal recall of the product?
