Those experienced in the world of defense acquisitions are all too familiar with the struggles experienced on both sides of the transaction. The warfighter desperately needs the technology offered by industry but cannot get it efficiently because of its cumbersome and clumsy acquisitions process. And industry, especially small businesses, struggles to stay afloat long enough to get their products to the warfighter because the government’s acquisition process is so slow. Ironically, it’s the same problem regardless of the vantage point, but the true quagmire appears to be how to fix it.
