Overview

Tanya is passionate about advising and advocating for her clients effectively. She methodically evaluates each case to determine how to resolve the litigation most efficiently and favorably for her clients, especially if and when it can be avoided.

Tanya has represented clients in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings.  She has experience in a wide array of complex business litigation matters, including disputes over contracts, business torts, real estate, and trademark infringement.  Additionally, she has assisted and advised clients on all aspects of federal and state contracting obtaining successful outcomes in bid protests and appeals.

While in law school, Tanya served as a student attorney for the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office and for the Wisconsin Innocence Project. During college, Tanya was a student intern and investigator for the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office, and served as an arbitrator for the University of Michigan Office of Student Conflict Resolution.

Experience

Recent representations include:

  • Represented a state agency in a financial consumer protection action, winning on a motion to dismiss and appeal
  • Represented a client in a real estate matter, winning on a motion to dismiss in federal court
  • Represented a client through a favorable settlement in a state bid protest, from the administrative level to the circuit court
  • Represented an online clothing company in a trademark dispute in federal court and obtained an award of attorneys’ fees after winning a motion for contempt
  • Assisted an international client settle a $6 million breach of contract/fraud case
  • Represented a client in the transportation and mining industry in a $2 million breach of contract litigation
  • Successfully represented a merchandiser in a trademark opposition dispute, winning after submitting trial brief with the TTAB
  • Represented a grocery store chain in a trademark infringement dispute before a federal court resulting in a favorable settlement
