An important "spin cycle" for Wisconsin Industry

Are you watching "Cycle 10"? Because we are. WDNR periodically submits lists of substances to the WI Dept. of Health Services (DHS) for review and recommendations of new or updated groundwater standards in NR 140. "Cycle 10" rulemaking is well underway and it contains a number of notables. Changes are proposed for many common industrial VOCs we see at cleanups across the state: TCE, PCE, 1,1-DCA, and 1,4-Dioxane, to name a few. Not to mention the addition of several PFAs compounds.

Once adopted, these standards will lead to (i) site investigation "do-overs" and (ii) closed sites reopeners -- a spin cycle indeed! If you own an industrial property in Wisconsin, you should be watching and getting involved Cycle 10.
