DOL Roles Out Spanish Website

This week, the US Dept. of Labor revealed that its Worker.Gov website--dedicated to informing workers of their rights--is now available entirely in Spanish. The goal of the website is to make it easier for Spanish speaking workers (including migrant workers in agriculture) to understand the laws applicable to employers.  The food sector has seen a marked increase recently in employees attempting to organize, often with the assistance of NGOs dedicated to that outcome, and particularly for the Spanish-speaking workforce. For more than 150 years, the lawyers in our labor & employment group have been assisting employers in these contexts and in their efforts to be fully compliant with labor and safety laws.  We can help!

"By sharing this website with your stakeholder networks, you will help to make Spanish-speaking workers and job seekers more aware of laws governing their wages, safety, equality, right to join with coworkers, and fair treatment as veterans or service members and retirees."
