This week, the US Dept. of Labor revealed that its Worker.Gov website--dedicated to informing workers of their rights--is now available entirely in Spanish. The goal of the website is to make it easier for Spanish speaking workers (including migrant workers in agriculture) to understand the laws applicable to employers. The food sector has seen a marked increase recently in employees attempting to organize, often with the assistance of NGOs dedicated to that outcome, and particularly for the Spanish-speaking workforce.
