Developing AI models requires a lot of data, so some companies use "model-as-a-service" providers to make models available through an interface. However, constantly needing more data poses privacy and competition risks. Companies may take sensitive information using models, and if they fail to protect user data, they may break laws enforced by the Federal Trade Commission. Violations of antitrust and consumer laws through data practices may mean action from enforcement by the Federal Trade Commission.
